India thrash Pakistan in the big Clash – Brief report



Yesterday on 4th June the most awaited and most important clash between India and Pakistan took place. Pakistan won the toss and put India to bat first on a pitch which was going to favor batting.  At the Edgbaston post toss 1 minute of silence was maintained for the London terror attacks victims and then national anthem of both nations were played. The play started and the opening pair of India Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan gave a decent start to India by giving a 136 run stand. Later Virat Kohli and Yuvraj Singh stabilized the innings and hit some boundaries and sixes displaying the expected fireworks. At the end Hardik Pandya hit three massive sixes in the last over to help India reach a nice total of 319 for 3. The match was interrupted by Rain twice and hence the match was reduced to 48 overs. Rohit Scored 91, Dhawan 68, Kohli 81, Yuvraj 53 and Pandya 20 off just 6 balls. Now as per DLS the revised target for Pakistan was 324 in 48 over. The Pakistan openers also tried to give a decent start but at 4.5 overs the rain interrupted play again and again the target was revised to 288 runs in 41 overs. Azhar Ali scored 50 and Mohammad Hafeez scored 33 and were the only batsmen to score more than 30 runs. The Pakistan innings was stopped at 164 for 9 by Indian bowlers as Wahab Riaz didn’t come to bat due to injury.  Umesh Yadav was peak of Indian bowlers as he took 3 wickets, Hardik and Jadeja took 2 wickt each and Bhubaneswar took 1 wicket and Shoaib Mallik was run out by quick throw from Jadeja. Yuvraj Singh was named man of the match for his fabulous comeback innings.

Lets hope that the Indian team goes undefeated and defend the title as the champions.
