Important Facts about President of Iran Hassan Rouhani visit to India


It is indeed A Week of Top Class Diplomacy For India.

Earlier this week The Iranian President Hassan Rouhani embarked on his three-day visit to India On 15th Feb. He visited Hyderabad First and paid a visit to Mecca Masjid and Qutub Shahi Tombs in Golconda. He addressed A Muslim Congregation at Hyderabad where he called for the unity among all sects of Islam and applauded the peaceful Co-existence among various Faiths in our country. He attended the Friday prayers at the historical Mecca Mosque in Hyderabad before leaving to Delhi later the evening. He also said that Iran will simplify their Visa norms For India and hope that India will do the same.

Then he reached New Delhi on the last day of his three-day Visit and received a Guard of Honor at Rashtrapati Bhawan and met President Ram Nath Kovind, PM Narendra Modi and other Govt. officials. Later, he paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. The Delegation of two countries met at Hyderabad House in New Delhi in presence of PM Narendra Modi and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

Iran and India issued a joint Postal Stamp.

A total of Nine (09) Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) were signed in the areas of Agricultural Cooperation, Avoidance of Double Taxation, Extradition, and others. An agreement was signed by both countries for avoiding Double Taxation and preventing the Fiscal Evasion due to the burden of double taxes on Income in order to promote the Investment and Trade Flow between the two countries. Both Countries signed an agreement for Exemption of Visa for Diplomatic Passport Holders. An MoU was signed for Exchange of Instrument of Ratification of Extradition Treaty, which brings into effect the Indian- Iranian Extradition Treaty signed in 2008.

Both Countries signed an agreement on a lease contract for Shahid Beheshti Port-Phase 1 of Chabahar during the interim period between Port and Maritime Organization (PMO) of Iran and India Ports Global Limited (IPGL). The Port will give access to India to trade with Land-Locked Afghanistan. India and Iran will jointly construct a 900-km Chabahar-Zahedan-Hajigak railway line, which will connect with Chabahar Port to the mineral-rich Hajigak region of Afghanistan.

An agreement for Bilateral cooperation in Health and Medicine was signed for traditional System of Medicines to develop the Ancient Medicinal Practices of both Countries. India and Iran signed an MoU for the establishment of a Cooperation Framework in the areas of Trade remedial measures viz. Anti- Dumping and countervailing duty. In addition to these,  MoUs were signed on Cooperation in Agriculture & Allied Sectors and Postal Section as well.

Four more MoUs were signed between Trade Bodies of the countries.

This will benefit both of the Asian countries which are looking for Mutual Progress in various fields.

The Canadian PM Justin Trudeau is also making his Maiden Visit to India this week. His Seven Day Visit will be focused on Job Creation and Strengthening Ties between the two Countries.
