Indian women cricket team defeated The West Indies Women by 7 wickets

The Indian women cricket team comfortably defeated the West Indies Women by 7 wickets on Thursday in the group level match. Deepti Sharma, Poonam Yadav and Harmanpreet Kaur took two wickets each and ruptured the West Indies batting line up to compromise on an absolutely uncompetitive score of 183. Hayley Mathews of West Indies performed best in their batting line up with a score of 43. The Indian came to bat to chase down this ‘easy’ target and nothing unexpected happened. Smriti Mandhana straightaway took the charge and scored a marvellous century and became the highlight of the match. Mithali Raj also played a good knock of 46 to make the West Indies face their second consecutive defeat in the World Cup, the first one being against Australia where they were humiliated by the Kangaroo ladies to suffer a humongous 8 wicket defeat. The Indian women earlier defeated the English by a 35 run margin to seal their first game in the World Cup in UK.

In other matches the Sri Lankans were outperformed by the Australian by defeating them by 8 wickets and chasing down 257 runs which is a monstrous target in women’s cricket. With the good teams continuing their winning streak the competition is likely to get interesting in the later matches and infinite excitement looks promised to the viewers in the women Cricket World Cup 2017.
